Allan Lamb was born in South Africa and is most known as a former England cricketer and captain who played for the first class teams of Western Province and Northamptonshire. He went to England when his native South Africa was banned from international cricket due to the apartheid regime. He retired in 1995 at the age of 41.
Allen currently works for Sky Sports and other foreign TV cricketing broadcasts as an analyst. He also owns an events business called Allan Lamb Associates and is a Director of Cleveland Travel group, whose African tour operator Africa Travel have been keen sponsors and supporters of The Sapinda Rainbow Foundation.
