The Sapinda Rainbow Foundation is a charitable non-profit organisation initiated by investment banking financier Dirk van Daele.

Dirk participated in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2009-10 and experienced first-hand how this unique experience could be beneficial to underprivileged youths in teaching them valuable leadership and life skills. The participation in the Clipper Race is a core part of what we do and represents our first pillar of activities. The second pillar is the support that we provide to the Ambassadors in their personal development, and a third pillar is our fundraising for third party charities.

The Sapinda Rainbow Foundation is a pure Corporate Social Responsibility program, in the sense that we invest 100% of the funds that we raise through donations towards providing development opportunities to our Sapinda Rainbow Ambassadors.

Our aim is sustainable social impact: we help our Sapinda Rainbow Ambassadors to find their potential and use their own strengths, talents and leadership potential to bring long-lasting and positive change to their communities.

While sailing the world’s continents, the sapinda rainbow ambassadors are becoming leaders so they can give back to their communities

For the duration of each Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, The Foundation selects a charitable organisation that we raise awareness and funds for.
